In recent years, the agricultural production fabric has been at the center of an intense transformation hinged increasingly on the values of multifunctionality. Within this perimeter, the analysis of data on young people in agriculture confirms an increasingly strong link between the entrepreneurial spirit of youth and the orientations of a new agriculture that not only produces food, which is crucial for the world’s steadily growing population, but also creates a series of positive externalities for the environment, society and the economy. Despite the climate of uncertainty generated, first by the pandemic and then by the war, young people are showing themselves particularly attracted to the primary sector. This is evidenced by numbers that also tell us how young people are more innovative, sustainability-conscious and multifunctionality-oriented.
